There is no uber vs. Tesla, they don't even have competitive core competencies. Uber isn't going to make a car better than Tesla, but Toyota might, and certainly one far more in line than anything from Tesla, with a cost efficient driverless transportation, that meets the business objectives for Uber, who aren't aiming to compete in "consumer auto sales" Toyota likely can engineer a cost efficient short-haul driverless transport vehicle, that meets the business objectives for Uber, who aren't aiming to compete in "consumer auto sales" You can have all the 💰 to spend on marketing and sales but if your product doesn't sell itself, then it wont float in the shared economy of the next gen. One has the flexibility of being a platform for connecting b2b2c... the other, takes on all the labor and liability of a silo supply chain/dist./sales to end users they have to market and sell to. These are seen as "competitive" companies by stupid ppl. There is no core competencies that the 'hard' companies have that are desired to compete with. They aren't ever going to compete in "consumer auto sales".
